So, today is Friday. It is the day when either James or I go to Mountain Shadows to have lunch with Jaina. Thankfully today was James' turn. Last Friday found me in the school cafeteria with Jaina, wedged between Jaina and Luiz. Luiz and Riley (sitting across the table from each other) were chatting about whether or not they were in fact twins. Now, I could see that clearly they were not given that Luiz was Hispanic and Riley was not, but their discussion was ammusing, temporarily. They decided that they could be twins because they both wore bracelets, both had short hair and were both boys. Luiz finally asked Riley, "Are you gay?" Riley thought for a minute and said, "No, I am not gay. Are you?" Luiz said, "No I am not gay." Then he turned to me and said, "Are you a lesbian?" I was shocked to say the least but I CALMLY said, "No, I am married...and I really don't think we need to be talking about that." It was all I could think of! He then said, "But are you married to a boy or to a girl?" After stumbling to regain my composure I told him I was married to a boy. He said, "Oh, well then...you are not a lesbian."
I was so glad that was out of the way and we could go back to eating our soggy french fries and nasty nuggets.....I guess I will slink back in there next Friday and try to avoid Luiz.

LOL! To quote my little Brooke "Awkward!!"
Tamara!!! Are you sure? Kids say the awesomest stuff! I lOVE how cute your blog is! Yeah! See, it's fun, eh? Sharra:)
I am so excited that you have a blog! Now I can see what you are up to. Had a hearty but scared laugh at your experience at luch. Crazy that kids know so much these days. Looking forward to peeking in on your cute little family!
From one Tamara to another, I want you to know that I cracked up laughing. From one lesbian to a straight girl--you handled that perfectly. Don't shy away from Luiz though. Do you remember the times when we use to whisper s-e-x. Now people say it whenever they feel like it. Hmmm. Hope you have more fun lunches with the kids.
