Yesterday the kids and I set out to tackle the yearly drudgery of carving the pumpkins they took such great care in picking out a couple of weeks ago. James has always been around to help me with this, so this year, knowing he would be working I put it off as long as I could. Keep in mind that carving pumpkins is not something I look forward to, but something I do anyway because what kinds of parent would I be if we didn't?
Now comes the greatest find in pumpkin carving! We used the little brown Pampered Chef stoneware scrapper to scrape out the inside of the pumpkins and it worked just like it was invented for that purpose alone! It is just the perfect size. I am just glad I finally found a use for all of those scrapers that have not seen the surface of stoneware in years...Try it next time!
You want me to do what with my hand???
Not a chance...
Jaina took the task at hand and dove in! Though, next year I think she will
think twice about getting the 35 lb. pumpkin!
EWWWWW! That is just plain nasty!
Ryan was very matter of fact about getting the job done...
The sooner I do it the sooner it will be over with!
And then we were done...Luke never did touch a single slimy morsel!
